Flying Scots Sweep Kam Kammerer and Gusto Cup Races

It was a great weekend for the Flying Scots! Both of the annual Rhodes 19 vs. Flying Scot challenge races were won by Flying Scot sailors, avenging a sweep by the Rhodes 19s last year. On Saturday, Skip Montello was first out  to the favored right side of the course, and in a light and dying breeze never looked back on his way to winning this year’s Kam Kammerer Race. On Sunday, in more blustery conditions, Ned Jeffries did a similar thing, only faster,  to win the Gusto Cup. The lone bright spot for the Rhodes fleet was winning the fleet prize for the Gusto Cup Race, an innovation conceived and introduced this year by the Flying Scot Fleet. Here are the top finishers for both races:

KAM KAMMERER RACE, SEPTEMBER 10th

Rhodes 19s and Flying Scots
  1st place: Skip Montello
  2nd place: Ned Jeffries
  3rd place: Kevin Lane

GUSTO CUP RACE, SEPTEMBER 11th

Flying Scots and Rhodes 19s
  1st  place: Ned Jeffries
  2nd place: Kirk Williamson
  3rd place: Scott Hale

Fleet Prize winner: Rhodes 19s
