Web Weather Alerts

Some of you may have noticed a new feature on the Club’s home page… Weather Alerts.

Whenever there is a weather watch or warning issued by the National Weather Service, a  weather alert will pop up on the home page, with a link to the details. Some of the conditions that will trigger the weather alert are: tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, hurricanes, tropical storms, flash floods, coastal flooding, blizzards, heavy snow, snow squalls, winter storms, freezing rain, ice storms, high winds, hail, dense fog, and other severe weather conditions.

Along the same lines, there is also a weather alert for marine conditions based upon the coastal marine forecast. These alerts are: Hurricane Warning or Watch, Tropical Storm Warning or Watch, Storm Warning, Gale Warning, and Small Craft Advisory.

If there are no watches or warnings issued by the NWS, then the weather alerts on the home page will simply disappear.

This is a great new feature which you can add to your arensal of resources for weather awareness and safety.
