Cruising Class Ocean Race for the Wheeler Trophy

The Sandy Bay Yacht Club and its Cruising Class Fleet will host the Ocean Race on Saturday, August 23. The Ocean race is an offshore race for cruising boats racing under the PHRF handicap system. This system equalizes the various differences in age, size, shape, length and design between different types of boats. In past years, the event has drawn approximately 20 boats from yacht clubs in the Cape Ann area.
