Eileen A. Norton of Rockport, former Housing Authority chairwoman, died Wednesday at Massachusetts General Heal following a
lengthy illness. She was 66.
She graduated from St. Columbkille High School in 1944.
Miss Norton started her career in bookkeeping and accounting with the MBTA and later worked at
Oxford Engineering., The Pillar House and Abrams Management CO.
She was chairwoman of the Rockport Housing Authority and served on the board of
governors of the Sandy Bay Yacht Club. Miss Norton was a member of -the Rockport
Democratic Town Committee and served on the board of directors of the Catholic
Interracial Committee.
Miss Norton is survived by a brother, John of San Francisco; and a
sister, Sr. Mary Dorothy, C.S.J., of Framingham.
A funeral Mass will. be celebrated at 9 a.m. today at the chapel of the Sisters of St.
Joseph Mother House, Cambridge St., Brighton.
