Jack H. "Jake" Clements, 85, husband of Geraldine C. (Kierstead)
Clements, a former longtime resident of Rockport, died on Wednesday at the
Greenery Health Care Center in Beverly, MA.
He was born in Bristol, England, on Jan. 21, 1912, to the late Frank W. and
Alice M. (Huxtible) Clements.
Mr. Clements worked for several companies as a sheet metalist and moved to
Rockport in 1952.
Upon retirement, he and his wife operated a successful canvas bag business,
"Jakes Bags" in Rockport.
Mr. Clements was a great boating enthusiast and served as a steward at the
Sandy Bay Yacht Club in Rockport.
He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army with the
10th Mountain Division.
Mr. Clements is survived by his wife, Geraldine Clements, now a resident of
Framingham, and a step-daughter, Carol A. Pike of Holliston.
At the family's request, services will be private. Contributions may be
made to the charity of one's choice.
