M.E. "Meg" Day

M.E. "Meg" (Gass) Day, wife of the late Ellison G. Day, of 333
South St., Rockport, formerly of Newton, dies on Sunday at her residence.
She was born in Malden to the late James M. and Minnie (Gratto) Gass.
Mrs. Day had resided in Newton for many years where she was a member of
P.E.O. of Newton and a former member of the Eliot Congregational Church.
She had resided in Rockport since 1964, where she had summered for many
years and was a member of the Rockport Garden Club, the Rockport Art
Association, the Sandy Bay Yacht Club, the Thacher Island Association and
the First Baptist Church of Rockport.
Mrs. Day is survived by a son, Elison G., husband of Suzanne E. Day Jr.,
of Chapel Hill, NC; three grandchildren, Penny Olson of Rockport, Pamela
Berube of Rehoboth, and Ric Ripley of Natick; and several nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Mrs. Day was predeceased by a daughter, Mimi Ripley.
Memorial services will be held in the First Baptist Church of Rockport, 2
High St., Rockport, on Wednesday afternoon at 2.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the First
Baptist Church, 2 High St., Rockport, MA 01966.
