Nancy W. (Wicky) Fritch, 77, wife of the late Ralph G. Fritch, of 21 Eden
Road, formerly of Melrose, died on Saturday night at the Hunt Nursing Home
in Danvers.
She was born in Rockport on Dec. 23, 1923, daughter of the late John and
Bertha (Snow) Wicky.
Mrs. Fritch was a graduate of Rockport High School and also a graduate of
Boston University.
She was employed for several years as a secretary for the Boston and
Maine Railroad. Mrs. Fritch lived in Melrose for many years where she was an
active member of the Highlands Congregational Church and the Kappa Delta Psi.
She moved back to Rockport in 1987 and was an active member of the
Rockport Rights of Way Committee and the Sandy Bay Historical Society. Mrs.
Fritch was a member of the Sandy Bay Yacht Club where she enjoyed sailing
and racing in the Flying Scot class with her late husband.
She enjoyed needlework and taking her grandchildren to the Whistlestop
Mall for ice cream.
Mrs. Fritch is survived by a daughter, Pamela F. Jacobson of Rockport; a
son, Stephen G. Fritch and his wife Nancy (Elson), of Saratoga Springs, NY;
four grandchildren, Amy Elizabeth Jacobson, Peter William Jacobson, both of
Rockport, Emily Boyd Fritch and Meredith Gifford Fritch, both of Saratoga
Springs, NY; two brothers, John F. Wicky and his wife, Pauline of Rockport,
and Phillip A. Wicky of Rockport; and a niece, Susan Wicky Brunelle of
Rockport.
