Paul E. Anderson

Paul E. Anderson, 59, husband of Susan D. (Duffy) Anderson, of 69 South St.,
Rockport, died on Saturday morning, April 6, at
Massachusetts General Hospital.
He was born in Amsterdam, N.Y., on October 28, 1942, son of the late Burnell and
Lotti (Gosciminski) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a graduate of Siena College, class of 1964, and received a
master's degree in public administration and public finance from State
University of New York at Albany.
He was most recently the executive director of the American Red Cross of
Gloucester/Essex, a position he began in November
2001.
Mr. Anderson had previously been employed as a vice president for financial
affairs at the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio,
from 1996 to 1999, and as a budget director at Boston University from
1989 to 1996. Other positions that he held were the director of analysis
with the New York State Senate Finance Committee from
1967 to 1981, director of information services with the New York State
Higher Education Services Corporation from 1981 to 1985 and senior
executive with the New York State Metropolitan
Transportation Authority from 1985 to 1987.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the National Association of College and University
Business Officers (NACUBO), Financial Executives
Institute (FEI) and the Central Association of College and University
Business Officers (CACUBO). He was also a member of the Sandy Bay Yacht
Club in Rockport, the Rockport Golf Club and the Bass
River Tennis Club in Beverly.
He is survived by his wife, Susan D. Anderson of Rockport; and two daughters,
Kristen M. Anderson of Boston and Kerry L. Anderson of
Guangzhou, China.
