Daily River and Lake Summary
National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA
1157 AM EDT Mon Aug 19 2019

Today will be hazy, hot and humid. Afternoon temperatures will warm
into the mid 80s to low 90s as southwest winds blow 10 to 20 mph. It
will be slightly cooler along the south coast but still warm and
humid. There is the risk for spot showers throughout the day today
with added thunderstorms this afternoon and evening as a cold front
moves through the region.

Behind the cold front, a brief relief from the humidity is on tap
tonight and Tuesday as dry high pressure builds over southern New
England. Lows tonight will fall back into the 60s to around 70
degrees. Highs on Tuesday will average in the 80s.

The high shifts offshore Tuesday night, behind which warm and humid
conditions return to the region for Wednesday and Thursday, along
with the risk for showers and thunderstorms.

Area main stem river levels will remain nearly stationary over the
next 24 to 48 hours.

These forecasts include a 48 hour precipitation forecast for the
period beginning 7 am today. The precipitation forecast may extend
out to 72 hours during significant rainfall events or times of
increased flood potential.
